Boutiques Callback (non-OCI

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Aug 10, 2022 6:32 pm

Out of the big lit boutiques (e.g., Wilkinson/Susman/Kelogg/Kaplan/etc.), what is normally the time period between CB and offer? Waiting on one (not necessarily listed) and wondering if I should just plan on a ding.

I waited a month and a half for a ding from a major Houston boutique.

I got an offer from a firm that often appears in these conversations about a week after my interview.

Accepted an offer at one of the firms you mentioned for next summer outside OCI. The interview process was not a traditional one-screener, one-callback (and my understanding is that the firm/some other boutiques don't follow that standard), so I can't pin down my timeline the way you're asking.

I'm happy to share more information about the process/timeline in PMs, I just had some unique factors impacting my timeline and I don't want to risk outing myself.

It can really vary. I work at one of the boutiques listed above, and sometimes we give out offers the next day, and other times takes a few weeks. This is true for an offer or a ding, so I wouldn't lose all hope after a week goes by. They might have a string of interviews lined up and are waiting until the end to decide, or the partners are just too busy to meet and make a decision. But if it's been a while, you can politely check in with the firm.
