Regulatory Practice and In-House

Currently at a big law firm doing litigation, and I am not sure I love litigation, but I am even less interested in transactional. I have considered making a switch to a regulatory practice (still early enough in my career to make a switch), but I do not want to close off going in-house in the future. Is it difficult to go in-house from a regulatory practice? How does it compare to litigation (not general lit, so better odds in my case)? Obviously, transactional is usually king here, but I don't want to make the switch and then feel compelled to stay at the big firms forever.

I’m currently in a regulatory practice, and we have many people go in house or to the relevant regulatory bodies. The regulatory needs are always there, and you can get really great specialization for a client’s needs. Depends on the specific type of regulatory practice—healthcare and investment management are pretty different.
