WSGR vs. Gunderson
Which would you take? Both would be in non-Cali markets that I would really like to live in. I am primarily interested in EC/VC work. Looking for a firm with a good culture (non-sweatshop/friendly/interesting work/decent partnership prospect) where I can stick around long term. Thanks!

Based on office overlap, I'm assuming one of Austin / Boston / NYC.lawyerwhiskeybacon wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 11:53 amWhich would you take? If Austin, I'd choose WSGR, given that Gunderson's Austin office consists of 11 people total. If NYC, I'd choose Gunderson. If Boston, I'd choose WSGR for life sciences and Gunderson for VC.

Because my sense is that WSGR NY does less EC/VC work (and more cap markets, securities, etc) compared to Gunderson NY.lawyerwhiskeybacon wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 11:12 amWhy would you take Gunderson in NYC?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 6:38 pm

Anon because I work at WSGR - wouldn't join WSGR right now, appears to be very little work and that will likely get worse when the new first years join.

If Boston, don’t take WSGR. I think it’s mostly IP folks who support other offices.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 6:38 pmBased on office overlap, I'm assuming one of Austin / Boston / NYC.lawyerwhiskeybacon wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 11:53 amWhich would you take? Yep, I think they intended for it to be bigger, but it’s just not an office making any significant inroads in BostonAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 5:19 pmIf Boston, don’t take WSGR.
