Yeah at my firm the of counsel will come into your office around 10, 11pm and give you a pep talk that transitions into a vigorous Swedish massage on the top of your desk, toweled or untoweled (your choice). It's relaxing and helps me get ready for another 4-6 hours of briefing; really puts me in the zone. Thanks.

My firm offers this awesome perk where they pay me a lot of money for something a monkey could do. Not sure if others do that.

lmao it always makes me laugh when people compare firms based on seamless amounts, gym, and other perks when there are such larger and more significant distinctions

not to knock OP, i think comparing is fun. i just hope they aren't employed to make actual decisions between firms

I mean, are there really more meaningful distinctions between firms for a junior associate? Differences in Seamless amounts, availability of a gym, free breakfast/lunch, etc., can be real savings for a junior associate, thousands a year potentially, depending on how you look at them.

But lol, massages?

I mean, sure, assuming you’ve already narrowed firms down by things like location, practice group/strengths in your practice area, and overall work culture, which seem way more significant than Seamless budgets and gym memberships.

Trying to narrow based on work culture for a junior is essentially impossible and the idea that firms have "a culture" just isn't all that true anymore given the mobility of share partners these days.

Geography and practice group issues, yes of course, but that basically goes unsaid...

By "work culture" I wasn't talking about "this firm is fratty, this firm is nerdy," but thinking more along the lines of "are the people in your practice group assholes," which is admittedly hard to figure out, but more important than a gym membership. Also things like free market v. central assignment system, practice group rotations, etc.
