1L Diversity Scholarship - Nego with other firm?

I have a $50k diversity scholarship by virtue of being a 1L SA at a V10 firm. I would like to summer at a different firm next year. However, I find it difficult to justify giving up $50k to work at a similarly ranked firm.

Has anyone successfully negotiated a diversity scholarship match with another firm? My 1L SA is in NY and I am applying to & have offers from NY, SF, and LA.

I tried this a few years ago with a $25k offer, albeit with a litigation boutique. The response I got was something along the lines "we don't pay to play." I imagine $50k would be even more of a no-go for most firms, but I would still try! It'd be unreasonable to hold asking against you -- $50k is a lot of money.

No clue about this one, but why do you want to summer at a different firm?

If the other firm has a diversity scholarship I was able to get those as part of my offers, but this really depends on the firm. Most firms have a certain amount of scholarships they set aside at the beginning and they give those out quickly. There were a couple that just tagged them on and it seemed like they were fine just adding me to their list. If their scholarship amount is different (so if they only offer 25k) I wasn't able to get anyone to match the higher offer, but more and more firms every year seem to be moving to 50k which is nice. Nobody held it against me for asking and some firms said they were unable to match (usually if they didn't already have this type of scholarship) but this definitely happens
