Chance of getting no return offer given the economy

Anon for obvious reasons. SA at a very reputable large firm with 100% offer rate for at least the past 2-3years. Partner told me that some people are internally talking about not extending offers to everyone if the economy gets really bad. Nothing set in stone yet but it's certainly alarming. I know summers are not expected to work really hard but I honestly can't find a lot of work. Billed 2 or so hrs/day on average. People keep telling me there's nothing to worry about and the job is ours to lose. Thoughs?

If this is a V20 then I really doubt they’ll no-offer. What they will do is hire a smaller class in the current hiring season. But if this is a Texas office of a v100 or something, that may be a different story. Most of the clients I deal with don’t actually pay for summers anyway, so your billables are economically not relevant
