as of a few years ago - all day. you meet with various associates (feel like I met associates, but maybe misremembering and just partners) + partners one-on-one, no set time limit for any given interview. there's a lunch with a few associates. you generally get an offer at the end of the day, if they're giving you one.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 8:46 amhow long are cravath callbacks? what's the structure?

Re: 2022 Pre-OCI Megathread
Just to leave a conclusion for posterity's sake, I reached out this afternoon and heard back that the summer program just ended so things are a little delayed (I assume OCI also slows everything down). Should get the offer letter today or tomorrow morning, according to the office's recruiting contact.tathagata wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 10:17 amAwesome, thanks. If I don't get an email by Monday afternoon (two business days after getting the calls) then I'll send an email.diet_coke_head_ wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 10:13 pmRecruiting contact, yes! (I got a BL NY offer, partner phone calls, asked abt when to expect official offer and they said idk ask recruiting haha. I got the email from hiring partners same day, but recruiting contact would’ve been my next move!)

Any insight on the CB to offer timeline for firms in Boston right now? (Specifically looking at Goodwin, Weil, and Proskauer).

I'm curious as to how OCIs affect the timing of hiring decisions for those who went through the pre-OCI process in mid and end of July -- ie should we expect a long radio silence?

Re: 2022 Pre-OCI Megathread
I preOCI interviewed with PW and Kirkland mid July and still have not heard back. After following up I was told that decisions were slower since it coincides with OCIs and a lot of hiring partners are on vacation in August but I would hear back shortly. Im feeling pretty anxious though and wondering if this is routine or a soft reject. If anyone is going through the same lmk !Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 12:24 pmI'm curious as to how OCIs affect the timing of hiring decisions for those who went through the pre-OCI process in mid and end of July -- ie should we expect a long radio silence?

I got an offer from one of these two (same timeframe) 1 week after CB, so it may be a soft reject.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 1:21 pmI preOCI interviewed with PW and Kirkland mid July and still have not heard back. Re: 2022 Pre-OCI Megathread
Somtimes pre-OCI slow rolls based on OCI but I'm skeptical. I screened with a V5 2 weeks before they came on campus and heard nothing, then my friends who interviewed on campus heard about their CBs that night. I was crushed so I reached out to my screener, who apologized said they would love for me to have a callback - seems like it was actually just an administrative mistakeAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 1:21 pmI preOCI interviewed with PW and Kirkland mid July and still have not heard back. I did hear from Kirkland fast as well though but it was more like early July

Aren't they known to offer at the end of the callback interview or was that a pre-COVID thing? I have my callback interview tomorrow so I can report back.

This is old data (specifically related to CLS) and also anecdotal at best. Take with a very large grain of salt

Re: 2022 Pre-OCI Megathread
I’m hearing from people that most firms are are basically full or have called most everyone they’re calling for callbacks.
Have all callbacks gone out by now? I have a callback next week (had 2 last week that I haven’t heard from) so getting nervous.

same more recent figure from the past year (90-100% offers for S&C) here for a YSC:Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 1:59 pmThis is old data (specifically related to CLS) and also anecdotal at best. Take with a very large grain of salt

Still might be grain of salt for T5 or whatnot but even chambers says they weed almost everyone out a the application and screener stages

i haven't heard across the board, source? i do think skadden NY and latham NY are full based on anecdata of kids at my school and me seeing other people say so on here and reddit and DPW NY almost (based on pre-OCI offers to those at my T14 and DPW refusing to give offer extensions because i think they need to reallocate)Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 4:32 pmI’m hearing from people that most firms are are basically full or have called most everyone they’re calling for callbacks.

but haven't heard this on others. CSM and GDC notoriously refused to do pre-OCI interviews although GDC NY is flipping CB to offer in less than 24 hours in some cases

DPW gave me a cb yesterday. Skadden NY was giving out cbs at least as of tuesday, but definitely less than prior years. Latham NY is giving (limited) cbs out today I've heard.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 4:57 pmi haven't heard across the board, source? i do think skadden NY and latham NY are full based on anecdata of kids at my school and me seeing other people say so on here and reddit and DPW NY almost (based on pre-OCI offers to those at my T14 and DPW refusing to give offer extensions because i think they need to reallocate)Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 4:32 pmI’m hearing from people that most firms are are basically full or have called most everyone they’re calling for callbacks.

Edit: Deb seemed very low on slots compared to other firms. I had a good interview w/ them, am right on/above their median hire, and got dinged this morning. Only people I know with Deb cbs from OCI are like DC lit quality people.
Granted this is all based on my T6's very late OCI, so maybe these firms saved us a few slots? Unclear.

I've seen lots of firms have open cb schedules into next week/the week after. NY is more rushed but even they had open cb slots for next week. CA is mostly the week after.

when an attorney emails you saying congrats on getting an offer, do you respond? there are so many and I don't have any questions to ask. do I need to respond? if so, what should I say? it's so overwhelming

Re: 2022 Pre-OCI Megathread
There’s no reason to respond to all of them but you have no questions to ask of any of them? I think it’s smart for each firm you’re considering to pick one (or at most two) people who you’ve connected with the best and follow up with them with the questions you couldn’t really ask during the interview. Think things like: what is the goal of the summer program, when am I expected to choose a practice group, what practice groups are popular with summer associates (ie will I get forced into something without having interest in it), how frequently do you/junior associates take vacation, how often will I get the opportunity to work cross-office, what are the formal and unwritten face-time requirements, etc. Now is your time to be asking those sorts of things! But no otherwise unless they’ve asked you a direct question (e.g invited you to the office or to an offer dinner), there’s absolutely no need to respond to the congrats email.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 10:27 amwhen an attorney emails you saying congrats on getting an offer, do you respond? there are so many and I don't have any questions to ask. do I need to respond? if so, what should I say? it's so overwhelming
