Screener at Kirkland this afternoon, got a callback invite around 5 hours later!

Also got a callback invite from Simpson Thacher this evening. (Side note: anyone know what this callback gift is)

For those of you who've heard back from firms, what are your approximate class rank/gpa? I'm above median (top third-ish) at a lower T14 with significant WE, but have not heard back from any NYC firms.

re timelines, things will move fast if they want you. I wouldn’t stress too much about application —> screener/cb as sometimes schedules just don’t work or applications slip through the cracks for a week, but everything after that should typically be <1 week turnaround. This is my experience in NY specifically.

STB, for example, is typically cb—> offer within a week. anything longer than a week you’re being effectively waitlisted. again though, this was NY - I did pre-oci in a smaller market and waited a month between screener and cb

Anybody know how the STB DC pre-oci process goes? I had a 20 minute interview with them, so I don't think that was a callback

Between top 5-10% at a good regional school (roughly T70), I've got 3 callbacks with NYC firms. 2 years of legal work experience and 4 legal internships.

I think it depends. I applied to approx 20 firms the first week of June. For one V20 firm, I got a CB the day after I applied through the website. For the other V10 firms, it took about a week. I haven't heard from any others though.

For white & case, is this virtual pre-recorded interview treated as a screener, or would you need to go through both a screener and a callback if you get an invite after completing it?
