re timelines, things will move fast if they want you. I wouldn’t stress too much about application —> screener/cb as sometimes schedules just don’t work or applications slip through the cracks for a week, but everything after that should typically be <1 week turnaround. This is my experience in NY specifically.

STB, for example, is typically cb—> offer within a week. anything longer than a week you’re being effectively waitlisted. again though, this was NY - I did pre-oci in a smaller market and waited a month between screener and cb

Anybody know how the STB DC pre-oci process goes? I had a 20 minute interview with them, so I don't think that was a callback

Probably a screener. May I ask when did it happen?

Any thoughts on firms to target in NYC/BOS/DC for lit? I'm ideally looking for a boutique or plaintiff-side firm, but I know those are somewhat difficult to land.

I'm a non-trad with solid work experience, somewhere within the top 5 in my class @ a decent regional, and on LR. Although I've said I am looking for litigation, any pre-oci hits I've received so far are for transactional work. I did contracting work for a while and hated it, so I don't want to be doing that as a career. I know it's early, but I'm concerned by the response so far, and I want to make sure I haven't accidentally missed some firms I should realistically target with my stats.

Screener at Kirkland this afternoon, got a callback invite around 5 hours later!

Also got a callback invite from Simpson Thacher this evening. (Side note: anyone know what this callback gift is)

Got DPW NYC Callback from applying directly to the firm. Between top 5-10%, school between T50-T100.

Had a callback recently with a V10 firm (small office) and the recruiting manager added me on LinkedIn. Any insights on what this could mean? I'm sure it's not a bad sign but I don't know if it's just standard practice.

What is the rule with applying to multiple offices? I have a couple of different markets that I am interested in and have only been getting interviews at the market I have the strongest ties with.
Do not go to a top school, but one of the top students at a T1
