How realistic is it to stay in biglaw for decades even if not as a partner?

"Since you have worked at an AmLaw 50, you will be able to bounce around the AmLaw 50 for the rest of your career. Once you’re in, you’re in."
Saw the above posted on reddit and wondered if it's an overstatement. I recently lateraled from a V10 to a V50 and I'm not confident I can stay in biglaw just by lateraling anytime shit hits the fan, but am I wrong? Even if I don't make partner or counsel I could happily ride the biglaw associate gravy train for a decade or two.
Anon giving the timing of when I lateraled.
