Resource/Knowledge Management Attorneys, Are You Happy?

I’m a corporate 6th year at a V20 considering a resource/KM attorney position at a peer firm. I’ve decided partnership is not for me. I’m content to stick around for a few more years while looking for the right in-house position, but this role caught my eye. No billables, a better schedule, and the opportunity to stay involved in my practice area seem like a worthwhile tradeoff for a small pay cut.

If you made a similar move, are you glad you did?

Anecdotal, but the one person I know who did this absolutely prefers it to being a midlevel associate. That person hated being an associate from day 1 and jumped at the chance to do this as like a 4th year and never looked back.
