HYS 1L whose recently found qui tam/whistleblower litigation an interesting option to pursue. Seems like interesting work and has potential for one to build out their own practice after some years. Was trying to find more info on the major players in the space but there wasn’t any rankings on Chamber or Legal 500. Wanted to get some insight on this market.

Assuming you're interested in the plaintiff-side, this area of law would fall under the "private public interest" firm category. The major players in this space vary widely based on geographic area.

I did a ton of this work, and I used to run a firm's FCA blog. I think the big plaintiff firms in the space are Phillips & Cohen LLP, Lieff Cabraser, and Cohen Milstein. On the defense side, basically every big firm will have the practice - particularly those with big government groups. You could also go work at DOJ Civil Frauds or HHS OIG.

For the plaintiff's side Constantine Cannon also has a decent practice
