TCR. Lionel Hutz & Associates is also a highly underrated firm, highly recommend for the aspirational law student.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 11:20 pmProbably Shotkin Zhang & Associates (SZ). I'm a 1L and unabashedly came into law school with the dream of working at SZ. The firm's stubborn dedication to lockstep, refusal to expand geographically, and uber-perfectionist culture are major selling points for me, though I know they are turn-offs for most people.
Obviously SZ is an intense and unforgiving place to practice law — so if I burn out, I would consider moving to a lesser firm like Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz.
EDIT: I know rankings aren’t everything, but I’d also consider working at a global elite firm like Baker McKenzie (#1) or DLA Piper (#2).
Me too, 100%. I'd do that for 1-2 years before moving over to private equity on the business side. Can't wait to be swimming in money at age 26 to the envy of my other K-JD bros.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 2:31 pmWLRK. May as well get paid absolute top market compensation for the hours.
How about Cravath? Not the same $$$ but you get to experience the same hours!Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 2:31 pmWLRK. May as well get paid absolute top market compensation for the hours.
+1 re MBD Roth
I'm not saying this is a *bad* take, necessarily, but it's a bit weird, because, as far as I know, you could just ... apply there? And get hired? A random glance through younger attorney bios shows a lot of University of Houston Law Center, Texas Tech, MSU Law, South Texas College of Law, etc. There's nothing wrong with that--good for them! But, I mean, that may suggest that for many on this board if it's your dream firm you should just tell them that and go work there.Lacepiece23 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 8:37 amProbably the Lanier law firm. Mark is the best trial lawyer in the country but also believes, from what I read, in work/life balance.
Whatever firm this bro is at cuz they clearly got the best and brightest attorneys who totally get sarcasm. Unless the first anon is serious, in which case this thread just got a lot less interesting.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 4:19 pmI'm not saying this is a *bad* take, necessarily, but it's a bit weird, because, as far as I know, you could just ... apply there? Without exaggeration I do not have anything positive to say about that law firm, so I'll stick to the adage and not say anything.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 3:10 pmHow about Cravath? Had to read it twice to get it lmaoAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 11:20 pmProbably Shotkin Zhang & Associates (SZ). Anyone got a list of said firms for this 1L who knows nothing?
Play around with the search feature. I think there is a list floating around in the past year or so.mandrewsf wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 9:46 pmAnyone got a list of said firms for this 1L who knows nothing?
Why would you think a desire to work for the most successful plaintiff’s trial lawyer in the country would be sarcastic? I’m confusedAnonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 6:52 amWhatever firm this bro is at cuz they clearly got the best and brightest attorneys who totally get sarcasm.
