A handful of those YLS students were in the DC office last summer. This class list doesn't indicate any students in the DC office this year.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 9:42 amInteresting — seems like a substantially smaller class than last year. Perhaps 2021 (c/o 2022) was peak hiring and firms are now projecting a slowdown for 2023 and beyond?
ETA: also, Yale 5 → 1. Guess the New Haven whisper networks didn’t work in P,W’s favor.
Seemed like S&C and STB were more popular for (the limited number of) 2L's headed to NYC. Also a few going to each of WLRK and Cravath.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 9:45 amonly one chicago....Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 10:10 pmPW

We have to be careful with using the word "popular" here because you don't know the number of offers they had to hand out before getting 4 people to joinAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 11:03 amSeemed like S&C and STB were more popular for (the limited number of) 2L's headed to NYC. I interpret the word "popular" to mean "desirability," and I wasn't really talking about prestige or the future of the firm. Maybe prestige might affect the firm's desirability from the students' perspective, but that's none of my business. If firm A made 63 offers and only got 9 acceptees while firm B made the same number of offers and got 30 acceptees, that tells me a lot about "desirability."Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 1:55 pmYou also don't know:Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 2:07 pmWe have to be careful with using the word "popular" here because you don't know the number of offers they had to hand out before getting 4 people to joinAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 11:03 amSeemed like S&C and STB were more popular for (the limited number of) 2L's headed to NYC. 1) Number of interviews firms conduct at each school
2) Number of students scooped up in pre-OCI hiring
3) How each school allows or doesn't allow the selection of interviews by both student and firm
4) Offer amounts per school
5) Acceptance amounts per school
6) Overlapping offers statistics
7) GPAs and resumes of interviewees, offerees, and acceptees at each school
Personality/Fit considerations by each firm
9) Firm desire for expressions of student interest in particular practice areas
10) Tactics firms use to hit the target number of offerees and acceptees at target schools
11) The correlation between firm financial success and recruitment efforts
Trying to gauge desirability, prestige, or the future of a firm based on school number stats alone is a fool's errand.
