When do the big New York firms usually start associates in the fall? Sometime in October? And when should I expect to find this info out? Would ideally like to plan a post-bar pre-move vacation... Thanks

September and October are common. You should reach out to your firm's recruiting contact and see if they have information. Planning a bar trip for August is generally safe.

Don't think I'm gonna get official info until like June.

Gonna do a pagan ritual and prey for October I guess.

Why not email HR and ask? It’s not a bad look at all. Even if they don’t have one set yet, they should be able to share the last few years’ worth.

My firm had two start dates, in Sept and Oct, and associates could choose between them. We still had a few start on other dates too for their own person reasons.
