When and how did you find out that your firm monitored Jabber messages? Hearing stories of partners calling associates who have shared on jabber that they plan to quit. Is this actually happening? What else are they reading?

Don't use Jabber but is the firm monitoring via IT or are associates tattling?

I assume Jabber is like Skype messaging (which my firm uses) or Teams?
My understanding at my V10 is that the firm does not monitor nor store those messages for its own protection in possible litigation. If they don't store them, they have nothing to produce if they end up in a malpractice dispute.

My firm uses Teams for IM, set to automatically delete after 10 days.

IDK. I just go on incognito mode when I want to look at something I wouldn't want the firm to know I'm looking at.

We were specifically told the firm does not store info from jabber so we need to save any work related discussions we want to keep in a screenshot or something. The firm said that the amount of space needed to store that kind of information is too cost prohibitive.
