Hi - fellow H1b holders.
Just wondering what the market is currently like -
I know the Biglaw employers have become more reluctant to hire foreigners if they have to sponsor h1b - but what's it like if you already have a valid h1b with few years remaining?
Can you still find/move to a new biglaw job without too much issue (due to status that is)?
Would appreciate to hear about anything you experienced/saw/heard.

It’s possible - but your introduction/recruiter needs to be clear about how little work it involves for the new firm and the exact amount of time you have left (with time recaptured, extension, OPT, etc). The message has to be that there’s no lottery risk, that you’re entitled to work for at least 18 months, and you won’t be demanding anything else.

And firms won’t necessarily burn you if you say you’d like green card sponsorship (pretty pro forma for some, like Kirkland and Latham) but many may make vague promises that they never keep. If that is important to you, do your diligence in advance.
