Don’t expect partner at a lit boutique… they expect you to do a few years then bounce to gov. Partners are imported and you’d be handicapped anyway without government work or a clerkship. True?

Not necessarily. The very best lit boutiques (Susman, Kellogg, Bartlit Beck) don't import partners and promote nearly every associate up for partnership. Of course, these usually require at least one clerkship
