Swapping from Corp to Lit

Hey all, was wondering if you start out as a first year in corp, how easy is it to swap to lit? I was offered a spot in an M&A group, but prior to hiring I told them I really would prefer lit (and honestly, I'd be cool with antitrust lit or l&e, which I think are in more demand atm). I'm pretty certain I don't want to do corporate work, I'll try it for a year, but if it isn't to my liking how easy is it to either (1) switch to lit in that firm or (2) jump to a new firm doing lit work? Thanks all!

you dont have to wait a full year
i would send lateral apps as soon as you get a chance, should be fine as long as your grades are alright. it's probably easier to lateral than to switch in your office, though you could switch to another location of your firm, that's probably the easiest of all

I tried to switch from corp to lit at my firm. Big difficulty was that the office I was at basically only did corp, so I had to switch offices as well. I requested a few times during my first year as well as prior to starting.
Anyways, three years later, and I'm still doing corp. I'd indeed see if you could jump ship sooner rather than later. Obviously. the fact I had to switch offices made it less likely I was able to switch, but I wouldn't hold my breath, even at your firm.
