Tech transactions in NY (considering transition)

Hi, I’m currently a mid level in general litigation considering switching over to the corporate side, specifically to tech transactions. I hear it tends to be a specialist group that provides support for m&a and so the hours can be more unpredictable (relative to litigation), but I was curious to hear a bit more about what the hours/lack of predictability/assignments are like particularly for groups in NY. Has anyone who has made a similar switch be willing to share their experience? Thanks in advance!

Anon as I work in a related area.
There are two types of tech trans groups - 1) those that are largely or entirely service centres for other groups (eg, M&A or PE deal groups), and 2) those that have a standalone practice function (often in addition to a service function).
Most tech trans groups at large NY firms fall into category 1). Category 2) is easiest to find at firms with large emerging company practices where those growth clients needs help with commercial agreements. So, I’d look at NY firms with good emerging companies practices.

Thanks! That's a firm I've been most interested in since I started looking. I was told I was too junior when I applied the first time, but I re-applied recently, so crossing my fingers.
