how hard is it to lateral from one corporate group in one firm to another in a new firm within your first or second year? (for instance, funds to ECVC)

Lateral market is hot right now. If there was any time where this was possible, it's now. Had a friend who was a 3rd year in securitization in a V20 who transferred to M&A in a V40.
