Working at NY AG’s office

I’ve been exploring potential career options. I’ve always wanted to be a federal clerk but I think it’s becoming increasingly unlikely for a few reasons. I graduated cum laude from a T6 and am a new second year associate at a V20. I have confirmed my suspicions over the past year that I really like criminal work. I saw some postings for the NY AG’s office requiring 3 years experience and think that may a good fit for me. Could anyone speak to how competitive getting a job there is, the pay, and average hours? Thank you!

Not sure how it would be unlikely that you could be a federal clerk if you applied broadly enough. Cum laude at a T6 is pretty damn good for most district courts besides the saltwater states.

I heard that the SG's office is a lot of hours, like biglaw, good substantive work though
