Anyone know how much Kirkland and Ellis pays 3L’s to work during school? Also if they have a limit on how many hours you can bill? Are you allowed to work all year or only per semester?

Spring/Summer 2021 they offered $100/hr for 5-20 hours per week from approx. May to end of June.

This is correct. The exact timing (or whether this is even an option) would vary in future years, perhaps earlier perhaps never. LRD will send out an email about it when the time comes. $100/hr for 5-20 hours is the going rate, although that was set prior to the move to $205k so tbd if it gets a bump too.

Not sure about spring/summer. I think OP meant can you work after summer internship next year from fall to the next spring when you graduate and if you can work over the winter

I'm sure firms wouldn't do it if they didn't see it as helpful in some way, but I've always struggled to understand just how useful 20 hours a week from a 3L (who presumably isn't and can't be particularly responsive) could possibly provide any actual value to a firm.

There are a number of firms doing this right now, particularly in corporate practices where there's so much work. On the low end I've heard $35/hr and on the high end $125/hr. Kirkland is probably paying $100+ an hour.

Latham pays $120, so KE is probably around there I'd imagine
