3L callback interview with a big firm

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Dec 03, 2021 6:40 pm

Hi, I am a 3L student that is soon going to have a callback interview with a big firm. I directly reached out to the head of the practice group (I had some mutual contacts), did a screener interview with the head of the practice, then was invited to come back for a full round of interviews.

Any insight on whether the fact that I interviewed with the head of the practice in the screener stage is a positive sign? Or is it not so significant and just a fair game as if it were a normal callback interview?

It's both. It's obviously a positive sign that you interviewed with the head of the practice and they've opted to continue the interview process, but it doesn't sound like you're so connected to that person that you're a shoe-in, so don't take it for granted. Just be a normal person and approach the callbacks like you would any other.
