How to Get Copy of Offer Letter to Change Employment

A few years ago, I accepted an offer and signed an offer letter with a law firm. The offer letter provided a minimum base salary and a clerkship bonus. I've since lost the letter.

I am now applying to other firms and might need the offer letter to show clerkship bonus amount. Is there a non-suspicious way to ask for the letter from my old firm? I am going to another clerkship, so maybe for conflict reasons? Or should I have to provide a reason at all?

You need it to prove income for an apartment when you eventually start applying, and want it for your records now.

Yeah, just say you need it to prove income for an apartment or a loan or something. Ask HR, who ought to have this on file somewhere and won't think twice (nor care) that you might leave.
