Paul Weiss Associates: Post your special bonus here
Since the other bonus thread has devolved into typical nonsense, let’s start a new thread here. PW associates are supposed to get notified about special bonuses this week. If you work at PW and receive a special bonus, please post:
1. Practice group
2. Class year
3. Annualized hours
4. Special bonus amount
Hopefully we can collect some data points and see exactly who is getting these bonuses and can help similarly situated people at other firms understand whether they are being paid below market.

I don’t think many people will want to post all the data points OP asked for, but has anyone heard of anyone being told they’re getting a bonus yet? As a PW corporate associate it seems odd that the week is halfway over and I haven’t heard of anyone getting one yet.

Midlevel litigator at PW here. All I've heard is that 3rd-6th years in M&A and Cap Mkts have been getting anywhere from $30-$65K and were told explicitly that it is based on hours through 1H 2021. Somewhat odd, but it seems that although the intent of these bonuses is clearly to retain people in short-staffed practice groups, there are no conditions on the bonuses--i.e., no clawback if someone leaves before a certain time in 2022.

I’m also at PW and my special bonus generally lines up with what others have posted. Thankful for the PW partners for recognizing associates for their hard work so far this year. Looking forward to the bonuses that will get paid at the start of next year in respect of the second half of 2021!

Can someone revive this thread in 2022 when the next round of bonus calls happen?
Anon because I'm at PW waiting for news of this bonus and early 2022 is vague.

Same here. PW associate who received a bonus in the fall, but haven’t heard anything yet on the second portion. Hopefully we get an update on timing whenever PW eventually matches the new salary scale that DPW puts out.

Bumping to see if anyone has heard anything about when special bonuses for the second half of 2021 will be paid. Seems absolutely ridiculous that we haven’t heard about salary increases or the bonuses we were promised by now.

That associate probably meant "Seems absolutely ridiculous that we haven't heard about the special bonuses we were promised by now, or about salary increases."
Special bonuses were promised.
Salary increases are promised in the sense that PW says it will always match market. It might be too soon to say the salary promise is broken, because market isn't settled.
I wonder if the firm is waiting to see how much market is with any special bonuses included before recommitting to the special bonuses it already promised.

Re: Paul Weiss Associates: Post your special bonus here
I bet they are waiting to see if the market rate includes a special bonus, so that they can subtract that from whatever the promised bonuses were/are going to be. EG, if I was going to receive 60k, and market settles at Milbank scale + 10k special bonus, I bet PW matches and I get a call telling me I get 50K.

Anyone had a call confirming second round special bonus?
Anyone think the hours threshold for the second half of 2021 is different from the hours threshold for the first half?
