For those who are living/have lived in LA or SF, what are the differences in big law work culture/work/market size?

Tell me the pros or cons to your location.

From a corporate perspective I think there is a big difference. SF/SV is really the capital of venture capital; opportunities for that down south are definitely expanding but it is still night/day in terms of quantity and ecosystem. On the flip side I think SoCal has a big leg up in terms of entertainment law and deals. On a deal by deal basis the difference may not be too stark (i.e., there are good VC firms in SoCal) but over the course of multiple years I think these differences actually end up being real; for example, the pipeline of investors, repeat founders, or the early stage angel investors that you interface with, they are likely coming from totally different worlds.
