As Mechelman and Robinson goes, so goes the market.
It’s crazy because it looks like a lowish rate litigation defense firm that does insurance work. Makes me wonder if any associate is actually making $230,000.

Maybe they're including bonus in their "up to" numbers?
Obviously nobody is following this.

The news report by Reuters uses different language: "a new associate salary scale starting at $230,000."
With all the recent news about pay increases, I am beginning to think that some may be in this profession just for the money.

3. $170,000
4. $190,000
5. $210,000
6. $220,000
7. $230,000
8. $240,000

According to Law360, that firm's salary scale progresses by "levels" rather than years. So you could be a fourth year but still be on the first "level." I guess in theory you could be a first year on the fourth level, but that seems less likely to me.

Yeah the "up to" is reminiscent of JD, nothing to see here

Exactly. Unless they are starting everyone at 230,000, this is non-news.
