As a current public interest attorney, applying to private firm jobs, am I expected to have a deal sheet?

I know it is a common thing to submit with lateral applications. I also see it is required to submit on a couple of applications. However, I currently work as a PD. Do I still need to create a deal sheet?

Are you applying to litigation or transactional roles? Deal sheets are generally for transactional lawyers—litigators are more likely to need to submit writing samples.

Yeah I would guess you would be applying for litigation roles and they would want a writing sample. But that aside, if you have been a PD then you don't have a deal sheet so you couldn't submit one even if you were applying for a transactional role, so the point is moot.
