Shared offices in NY?

While everyone's looking into cultural fit and practice strengths, I'm here asking the real question: As a junior (potentially even as a summer?), will I get to LARP as an important person with my own office or will I have to share?
All irony aside, there are a couple of firms whose policy on this topic I'd be interested in knowing about (all NY):
DPW
Kirkland
Weil
S&C
Feel free to add info on other ones too.

At DPW depending on the group and, to a lesser extent, your preference, you will either share an external office with a window or will have a solo internal office with no window.
How long until you get your own external office depends on the group, but is probably at least two years, and closer to four or five in some smaller groups.

So, functionally, many attorneys never get their own office.

At S&C most people have their own office now, including first years and the most recent summer class. Some people share a partner-sized office with another person.
In the past, people usually shared an office for about two years. I think the main reason this changed is because tons of people have left the firm over the last 18 months, there is enough space for it now. No clue if it will continue like this post-covid, assuming we ever get there.

What was the purpose of bumping this post? It was literally the most recent post on the thread. Useless bump.

Not at K&E, but have a lot of friends there. Every associate gets their own office from 1st years and on. Not sure about Summers.

1st years at K&E sit in open floor cubicles (like you would see at an investment bank). We no longer have the office space to give everyone their own office. 2nd year usually get their own office (most likely an internal office).

My bad - did not realize this had changed. Looks like most places are going to open floor/shared offices for juniors.

In Milbank NY, there are fourth years still sharing internal offices. Pretty hilarious

But those are likely remnants of pre-COVID and offices were not changed since.

Don’t work there, but I’ve heard that S&C is roomier, and that it’s relatively easier for juniors to land their own offices. Earlier S&C anon post in this thread seems to confirm that.
And objectively — setting aside the “we own our building” thing — S&C has a shit ton of space:

lmao I mean it's not exactly a ringing endorsement for S&C if the reason for office space is due to so many people leaving the firm...

Not the anon who posted this, but this is total sq ft of their office. I don’t think many ppl leaving will change the sq ft of their building? Lol

....I think the post was in response to the claim that it's easier for juniors to land their own offices. This is only because so many people left the firm in last 18 months.

Can anyone else attest to what the case is at Milbank NY? When do you get your own space?

I get that. The anon who posted the chart was saying the office space was just bigger in an absolute sense, not having to do with ppl leaving. It was a different anon who claimed that it’s easier for juniors to have their own offices because ppl left.
