Permanent WFH

I’ll spare you the long post of reasons why, but there is no way I’m moving back to NYC in September. Does anyone know of any biglaw firms that won’t have a mandatory return to office? Or can we wildly speculate?

IME, this is going to be dependent on the most senior partner that you work for. Some don't care where you work as long as your hours are good; others care about face time.

I'm in same position (anon for this reason). If you give ultimatum and say ill leave or WFH forever, what are the chances they just say to leave? You think they will at least let you finish the year?

Are you being asked to come in?

Gibson Dunn is apparently going to be verrrrry flexible for the foreseeable future, but outside of them idk. Kirkland and Goodwin are doing full remote positions, but they require you to live in specified markets where they don't have offices

My V30 has announced that associates can select among (1) completely remote, (2) hybrid, or (3) dedicated office (4-5 days in office). Currently recruiting even in U.S. locations no office is located. DM for more info. Willing to split referral bonus 50-50.

Start talking to recruiters. Lots of options out there and if you get an offer you can bring it to your firm

I know several associates at my NY v5 who were offered full time remote when they gave notice. None of them took the firm up on it but it’s a chit that some places will pull out if they want to keep you.
