Bids are locked. May the pre-select gods be ever in your favor.

Employers pick 30% of interview slots from people who bid. The remaining 70% are lottery.
Anyone else waste a #50 bid on Cravath?

So OCS runs the lottery today but we have to wait until next Friday to get our schedule? Typical Georgetown.

They use the results to try getting extra interviews from firms and to make sure no one in the class has screwed themselves over by bidding only 3 firms on accident.

I'm not sure why that stops them from giving our results, both those things won't change what pre-select+lottery give us. If they add more slots, awesome, notify people when they come in.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm at Penn. Our OCI is the same week as yours, except that they had us turn in our selections in mid-June (so if you get pre-OCI interviews, screw you) and we just got our tentative schedule yesterday.
It's BS.

How is DC pre-oci going for folks? I've had 2 DC CBs, but no offers yet. (Skadden, STB). Lit focused.

I had one of those already and have another coming up. Haven't heard on the CB. Have a Latham screener soon.

Regardless of the dumb email we got from OCS:
1. Your goal should definitely be to get as many interviews as humanly possible unless and until you already have an offer
2. You should definitely reach out to more than 8-10 firms you bid on but don't get a screener with to express your interest and try to get an interview

Screeners out. Got 9. A little too reachy for my tastes. Thought I'd get more of my safety bids.

8 screeners (mostly DC) - now trying to hustle some more. Already have a NY offer so I won’t strike out. I know 8 is around average, but man we are at a disadvantage compared to some other schools where getting 20+ is the norm.
That said, I have a feeling we will see screener movement next week for people who bid firms but didn’t get screeners. Am oci interview vs a non oci interview is all the same to them when things are on zoom.

They would have just pre-selected the folks they want to have screeners with.

The firms have limited pre-selects (6 out of every 21 slots) so some firms would be happy to go around the OCI system to interview more then 6 pre-selected students from Georgetown. If the firms are taking applications, go ahead and apply.

Take a firm that has 21 slots - they can preselect what, 6 folks? Not a lot

Went from 8 to 12 screeners through opt in (1) and emails to recruiters asking for screeners (3). All additions in DC. Now have 10 DC screeners, 2 secondary market.
Feeling much better about this given how hard it is to get DC screeners from Georgetown (but still salty when friends at UVA, Northwestern can blanket dc and get 20 + firms. Is what it is I suppose.
Good luck everyone!!

meanwhile OCS telling us the number of interviews we get doesn't matter to try and pretend like it's not embarrassing that our average is 8-10 screeners per person.

So true. Putting UVA aside, my hope (and expectation) is that we as a whole will do better than out of town schools even with 8-10 screeners because 1) ties and 2) more spots for GULC given our strong presence at dc firms. Especially the higher tier firms, Covington, Gibson, W & C etc seem like they take quite a few GULC people historically. BUT that I can’t even interview with hogan/sidley/akin because 200 ppl bid them is kind of really annoying.
