Is there a discernible pattern regarding the time it takes to get an offer vs. a rejection?

It's been a long time, but I once received an offer 3 months after a callback (after I had already started another job). Lateral hiring can be weird, and based on how desperate the firm is to hire. In my case, the firm was just hemming and hawing about whether they needed to bring someone in or not.
