HB moved, but it’s not clear how much/what the specifics are. Can’t find an article anywhere on it.

Lewis Rice partners will have a meeting on the 10th to discuss salary raises for associates so we'll see some more market movements soon.

Haven’t heard anything, but AT has historically lagged the market, so I wouldn’t expect anything from them anytime soon. One posted above said they expect TC to match but honestly who knows.

TC went to 165k yesterday, which is pretty consistent with past raises. They lagged BCLP by 5k for a year when firms went to 140k as well. My guess is that they will ultimately match in 2022.

Anyone have an idea of what mid-level/senior comp looks like with these raises? Are they consistent across classes, or compressed at the top.

Jeez. Source on this? There’s starting to be a real gulf between TC/BC/Polsinelli and everyone else. 5k is whatever, but 15-30k is obviously game-changing

Different anon than the one you quoted, can confirm TC is going to 165 starting 1/1/22. Don't know what the scale is beyond starting salary.

TC also announced an "enhanced bonus schedule," but no details yet on what that means other than it will be applicable to 2021 bonuses.

Isn’t TC on the smaller side, too, at least by revenue and profits per partner?

For sure. TC has revenue that is like a third the size of Polsinelli and a fourth the size of Bryan cave. Also lower PPP. But all are pretty close on revenue per lawyer, which is probably the better metric for whether a firm can afford raises. PPP is so dependent on leverage and equity/non-equity splits, neither of which really impact what a firm can afford to spend on comp.

Smaller than Husch, too, judging by rev and PPP. Interesting point about rev per lawyer

Husch gave associates a minuscule bump in total comp. Like 5k. Rumor mill is that they’ll match eventually but are just waiting to see what others do. No clue how true this is but wouldn’t surprise me.

Husch is moving to 170k starting in Fall of 2022. Also raising billable requirements from 1850 to 1900.

To keep this current, HB announced a 30k raise for all associates effective immediately.

There has been some chatter going around that BC is going to increase the base salary in Stl again? Can anyone confirm this?

Don't they already lead the market there with no real competition?

Re-upping this because non-major markets are fun.

As predicted, I hear that TC will raise salaries by another 5k. Small, but matches the market. Maybe they’re hearing the same thing about BC raising again …

Pinging this thread because it seems to be the most active on MO law. Any of you guys have a feel for whether there are major culture/work differences between the firms that pay market in MO (BCLP, HB, Polsinelli, Shook, TC, Stinson, etc.)?

I find it in poor taste to bash other firms’ cultures when I don’t actually work there, but I’ll generally note that STL (like most markets) has roughly 2 types of Biglaw firms: 1. Firms that are more or less with the times (jeans in the office, remote work, normal people); 2. Firms that are stuck in 1980 (white collared shirt everyday, have to be in-person, super old partners who always talk shit about how little associates know). I’ll let others hash out which firms fall into which category, or even whether my categories are accurate.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
