I think there's at least a 10% chance that Milbank ups to 210k once Deb/STB/etc match DPW.

S&C raised it to $145k back in the day and STB to $160k. Maybe one of them will have the balls to reclaim the throne?

Milbank is not going to essentially negotiate against themselves here. How would it look if they went up and over the new scale that THEY/market subsequently set? Looks bad, because it shows they could have done it in the first place but chose to go cheaper..

Why are we calling it the DPW scale when other firms are paying the classes of 2020 and 2021 205K instead of 202.5L for 2021 and 205K for 2020?
I don’t think Cravath gets naming rights for bumping up stub years and summers. Headhunters are the ones that name the scale at the end of the day and they aren’t sending emails to law students or stub years fall associates.

Recent posters actually make a great point that DPW is ironically now below scale re: summers and 1st years LMAO
Any chance that DPW and other DPW matchers eliminate the weird 202.5K stub year thing now that Cravath (and I think Skadden) both start at 205K? Or is that too minor to warrant the embarrassment of a new announcement?

Where are we getting that Skadden and CSM are paying stubs 205? Did they include 2021 in their memos? I only saw 2020 class at 205. The argument can be made that they actually aren't including stubs in the raise and they will still be at 190k. Otherwise why wouldn't they have been explicit?

The full CSM memo posted on ATL says: “Summer Associate salaries will also be increased to match the class of 2020, effective July 1.” Can’t imagine that CSM is bumping summers up to $205K but keeping stubs at $202.5K (or $190K lol).

Is it 100% that the early movers will match the 205?

Alright, the NY/V10 drama is pretty much over. Time for those of us in V20-50 to start sweating.

I guess that makes sense. Also consistent with 190k raise memo

However, I think it is odd this time when other firms have distinguished between stubs and 1st years not to be explicit. I feel like they'd have an incentive to make it clear given it is still a raise in the market albeit a minor one. Also I didn't see Skadden specify summers which seems odd to me.

Skadden's summer pay is now raised to 3900/week which is consistent with a 202.5k salary.

Seems like the realistic focus here rather than waiting for a hero to re-raise the scale (not happening). Let’s see which of the firms on the margin match first.

Do you know if Skadden’s raise includes it’s Satellite offices like London?

I think we have to go deeper down the list.

In the V20-V50 range, only Williams & Connolly, K&L and maybe Hogan don’t match.

I know this has been asked but bumping for any thoughts on when lit boutiques (think susman/KH, etc) will match or whether they will just add to the above market bonuses?

Eric's email was sent to "all associates" so I would assume so... I know my friends in other US Skadden satellites got the raise.
