Re: NY to 200k?!
Nice. So who gets credit for beating the DPW scale and setting the new market floor? From ATL's chart, it looks like Skadden was the first to ditch the $202.5 nonsense, but Cravath was the first to explicitly say summers and stubs were at $205. Sounds to me like we're back to the Cravath Scale.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 11:34 amEmailed an updated salary memo.doctor wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 11:17 amHow did they make the announcement?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 10:31 amCleary just bumped class of 2021 and summers' salary to $205k.

Re: NY to 200k?!
Ehhhhhhh no. Cravath does not get to take credit for this simply on a technicality. Those fuckers lost their claim to fame and can only gain it back by going over the top or starting the next series of raises. Raising stubs by $2500 most certainly does not count, especially since even their claim to that is tenuous at best.doctor wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 11:56 amNice. What’s up with K&S? Seems like they’re in an interesting spot since they recently went to a unified salary for all associates.

K&S literally just matched, class of 2020 at $205k. Across all offices. As an Atlanta associate, let me just say woo hoooooooAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 12:47 pmWhat’s up with K&S? Seems like they’re in an interesting spot since they recently went to a unified salary for all associates.

Fall associates start at 205k according to our employment verification letters they sent out the other day. So WSGR is officially in the 205 crewAnonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 12:09 amFYI WSGR summers are getting salary matched to 205k, not 202.5k. Not sure about class of 2021 though.

People leak to journalists all the time using their usual personal email/phones/etc. ATL is not exactly the Wall Street Journal but they have kept the confidence of their sources all the same over the years.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 1:32 pmOn a practical note, how do people actually leak to ATL? I would think the concern would not be ATL keeping something confidential, but the firm's IT department seeing an email to ATL.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 1:51 pmPeople leak to journalists all the time using their usual personal email/phones/etc. ATL is not exactly the Wall Street Journal but they have kept the confidence of their sources all the same over the years.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 1:32 pmOn a practical note, how do people actually leak to ATL? Re: NY to 200k?!
K&S scale only goes up to class of 2014 / $350k. They might be trying to screw associates who are more senior because they might think that those associates will stay for partnership prospect anyway. Right now, the salary for 2013 and above is not clear.

Re: NY to 200k?!
I think historically you could elect for NY pay if you were on a 1950 billable hours expectation. However, I think even on the 1950 billable hours track there was salary compression beginning in year 3. Would love to know more details though / if that has changed.Definitely Not North wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 2:00 pmAh, ok. Wondering when Ropes will formally announce the match. Nothing since they mentioned in the Town Hall that they would.

Yeah, I mean don't use your firm email account or a firm laptop or network, I guess. The poster I replied to was talking about making a dummy email account just to send a firm comp memo to ATL, which seems very unnecessary.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 2:00 pmI would think the concern would not be ATL keeping something confidential, but the firm's IT department seeing an email to ATL.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 1:51 pmPeople leak to journalists all the time using their usual personal email/phones/etc. ATL is not exactly the Wall Street Journal but they have kept the confidence of their sources all the same over the years.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 1:32 pmOn a practical note, how do people actually leak to ATL? Not to say that this means you couldn't get in trouble, but I suspect that firms want these types of memos to leak (and would potentially leak it themselves if no one else did).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 8:38 pmYeah, I mean don't use your firm email account or a firm laptop or network, I guess. Do you guys think Milbank (currently @200k; as far as I’m aware it’s the only one on this scale) will match DPW anytime soon?!
