Lateraling as a first year

Current first year at a V10 looking to lateral. I’m specifically interested in project finance and I’m at a firm without a project finance practice. Does anyone have any advice on where to start? I’ve seen some firms have positions listed on their website, but I haven’t found any for first years and in project finance (I’m sure they’re rare). Would I be better off using a recruiter? Cold emailing partners I have a common undergrad/law school with?
