Re: Summer Classes 2021 Edition
For those of you who have completed a conflicts form and are starting your SA in mid-May: have you received any kind of feedback (like, an "all clear") from your firm? Or is it silence by default, and they only reach back out to you if they spot an issue?

NYC v10, received an email giving the all-clear after conflicts check, but there was some involved back-and-forth regarding the conflicts after I submitted the initial form.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 4:52 pmFor those of you who have completed a conflicts form and are starting your SA in mid-May: have you received any kind of feedback (like, an "all clear") from your firm? For me it was the latter, and it was just them asking for more detail on something I had put down.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 4:52 pmFor those of you who have completed a conflicts form and are starting your SA in mid-May: have you received any kind of feedback (like, an "all clear") from your firm? One of the STB Houston partners went to LSU so they always have 1-2 SAs from there

It’s Houston... how is that surprising? UT/Tulane/SMU/UH/Baylor/LSU are pretty much at every firm in that market.gottagetouttahere wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 1:52 pmTwo Baylor, one LSU, one UT? How?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 12:52 pmSTB Houston list:

I'm just surprised to see Baylor place more at STB. I don't think(?) STB has quite the same brand recognition in Houston, just surprised.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 2:18 pmIt’s Houston... how is that surprising? Re: Summer Classes 2021 Edition
Anecdotally, I'm from UT and I know at least one person who was offered at STB Houston and turned down their offer. They're headed to GDC Houston instead. Kirkland also drew heavily from our class and did better/heavier marketing during 1L year.gottagetouttahere wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 2:20 pmI'm just surprised to see Baylor place more at STB. So, this leaves 36 S&C summers from a variety of other schools. I'm assuming they are mostly non-T14?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 3:34 pmS&C across office list is out

Didn't go through in detail but outside what anon posted, there's a few Dukes, Nwestern, GTowns, UCHI. No michigan. So I'd say most of the rest, like 60%), is not T-14

7 seems like a small YLS contingent for S&C. From prior year threads, I thought it was normally in the 14-16 range (though I dunno, maybe those high years were the anomaly).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 3:34 pmS&C across office list is out

Did skittish Yalies get frightened away by the 2020 SA cancellation? Or maybe the sales pitch doesn’t work as well when the firm isn’t buying you a nice dinner at the Union League Cafe?

Re: Summer Classes 2021 Edition
Yale had about 10-11 last year, and this year there are apparently 21 less summers. I wouldn’t read too much into it.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 10:05 pm7 seems like a small YLS contingent for S&C. Re: Summer Classes 2021 Edition
interesting... i think most of the peer firms have been expanding their summer class, but s&c cut down numbers? I thought based on AM100 number they did fine last year, since there are more business need, why not hire more?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 11:27 pmYale had about 10-11 last year, and this year there are apparently 21 less summers. still, would the number of pre-clerk be close to 20-30? maybe they have enough attorneys to handle business right now so don't feel the need to hire a lot more (or they think the market is going to cool down soon)Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Apr 24, 2021 11:42 amThey might not have added the 3L pre-clerks to the list yet.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Apr 24, 2021 1:28 aminteresting... i think most of the peer firms have been expanding their summer class, but s&c cut down numbers?
