More hours but BL pay, so why would anyone from Yale want to work at Cravath, or, for that matter, anyone who has offers from other comparable firms? I wonder whether there is a perception and Yale and Chicago that Cravath is not as intellectual (or rarefied/out of touch, if you prefer).

As someone from Y/S, I can say that the only NY firm people are really excited by is WLRK. People also seem to prefer Sullivan, Paul Weiss, Debevoise, and Skadden to the other NYC firms.

Maybe not the most appropriate thread, but how are schools like Pepperdine ranked in the 50s when they haven’t placed one person on a SA list here? Even in CA...

It should be clear at this point that the preferred outcomes for Chicago and Northwestern students generally are not NY firms. Yalies are also going to be rare at any major firm because they're Yalies.

There's only so many people in the top of the class and some other firms are just more popular or people see them as better fits in those firms (maybe partially because there's more Fordham people in the first place).

RPL isn't necessarily indicative of the practice strength of the firm - Cleary is still a very good Wall Street shop

Notwithstanding the weird formatting error, also would like to chime in to say that RPL really doesn't do justice for an international firm like Cleary where half of its headcount is non-US. By any other metric, such as league tables or chambers rankings, Cleary is still among the top tier.
