Current mid-level lit associate at a V20 in California, and I'm starting to think about applying to clerkships or lateraling. Can I list "top 10%" on my resume if I didn't graduate "order of the coif?" I graduated in the top 10%, but wasn't eligible for order of the coif because only 73% of my units were graded (did a stupid externship). Will firms or judges view my class rank as disingenuous since they probably would assume that I graduated order of the coif even though I didn't? I went to a T30, so I kind of need to include my class rank to make up for the caliber of my alma mater.

Absolutely list class rank, if you think it'll help your resume. Coif just means top 10% with X% of credits. You're not saying you graduated Coif. You're just saying that you graduated top 10%. I see nothing wrong with that. Generally, people don't care that you graduated Coif. They care about what Coif means - that you were at the top of your class.
