This is a dumb question to the point where I sort of want the mods to delete/lock it once there's been an answer.

Does STB hire lateral lawyers? It's weird because I go on the website and it says to just email someone to inquire. Just seems weird and unconventional whereas the default is some job listings that give you a good sense of what positions are available.

Somewhat dumb question, but yes, STB hires laterals.

they hired a ton of laterals just a few years ago if I remember correctly, bc they were burning out associates

I actually work across the table with some STB folks and I think they've seen I'm competent and well liked by the client. Not sure if I can somehow leverage that <shrug>.

I'm an STB lateral. My team has quite a few laterals. I found out about it through a recruiter, but no idea if/where it was posted publicly. The firm offers referral bonuses also, so it's really not a delicate topic.

Where are you located and what general level of firm are you at?

Interesting! What year did you lateral at? And did you lateral into a niche practice group?

For what it's worth, I'm a junior & have heard cap markets is crazy busy. Obviously not privy to lateral hiring info but I would be surprised if we weren't hiring.
