I don't disagree with you re: Hudson Yards; but it's not as though the rest of midtown exactly screams authenticity or charm.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 2:10 amClifford Chance - felt very dark like a dungeon and outdated with carpet all over.
Alston & Bird - underrated and classically charming given its small size in NY.
Proskauer - cool, frosted glass look all over. It felt a little sterile because it was pretty yet understated. Nothing extravagant. Great views of Times Square, but having the view is not worth the trouble of working in that area.
Milbank - have nothing to add given all the comments on it before, but something about it seems very boring. Yes, it’s pretty and in the new Hudson Yards area, but it felt very lacking. That area is obscenely boring/manufactured and has none of the character another building or neighborhood in NYC would have.

White and case NY is an amazing officeAnonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 7:20 pmWhite & Case NY. Built brand new in 2017, they occupy the top 8 or 9 floors, the top top floor is a firm gym that's open 24/7. Glass and white marble all over the place - looks like what you'd expect a law firm in movies/TV shows to look like. The only downside is the lack of privacy in offices I guess, but most places seem to have open-door policies anyway

In SF: Covington’s new offices in Salesforce make you feel like you’re in the year 2350. Really cool.
Jones Day has incredible views and stylish marble and glass etc. I haven’t seen the other 555 California offices—Kirkland, Sidley?—but I’m sure they’re similar. 555 California probably has best views in city because it’s right at the northern edge of the financial district.

Akerman’s Miami office is really nice. It’s in Brickell City Centre and the office is connected to the mall. Also, the metromover is right there too, so you don’t have to deal with the insane humidity as much.

As nice as the building may be, I still can't get over the fact that they fly a "Venable" flag at the top of their building. It's a law firm, not a car dealership.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 3:25 pmVenable DC office is really nice and was just built a couple of years ago

Right across from Grand Central, which seemed like a good location. The office itself has a dark vibe (dark wood and carpeting), but the office doors/hallway facing walls are glass. There's also something weird where the floors in the two wings don't match up (forcing you to take certain elevators to certain floors), IIRC. There's a big cafeteria and it's supposedly pretty good.

TBH I think STB office looks kinda old/outdated ... based on cb experience I kinda liked DPW office a bit more, mostly warm colored wood all over. But I guess this is just personal opinionAnonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 12:20 amRight across from Grand Central, which seemed like a good location. Many moons ago I was at Milbank LA when they moved offices. The Century City offices were nice and new, but had clear glass doors on the offices which was a total bummer. But, any firm that has a free full service barista is very nice in my book.
S&C's office in LA looks like a rich grandma's house. Ugh.

Curious about the week colored wood. Is it like the common light brown wood of the 90s?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 4:03 pmTBH I think STB office looks kinda old/outdated ... based on cb experience I kinda liked DPW office a bit more, mostly warm colored wood all over. HAHAHA S&C's decor style is apparently consistent across all offices - their NY office is also that vibe, saw a picture posted by a friend who visited S&C Hong Kong office a few years ago, exactly the same decor lol, a lil stuffy tbh, but have to say fits their brand image really well.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 4:18 pmMany moons ago I was at Milbank LA when they moved offices. K&E NY: Great views, very pretty building. Probably my favorite New York office I went to.
S&C NY: Also very pretty building, great location. Also, unlike a lot of other office spaces, it looks great from the outside.
DPW NY: Seemed pretty average, but had some good amenities (I think it had a nice cafeteria. Some of the floors had recently been remodeled)
Gibson NY: Also seemed pretty average. Nothing sticks out in my memory.
Skadden NY: Their current Times Square office is fine (aside from the terrible location), but I was able to see a video of the new office they're building in Hudson Yards (I think they were set to move in this year? But that was a while ago) which looked gorgeous.
Weil NY: This stuck out to me as by far the ugliest office of the firms I went to in New York. Offices were smaller, the hallway lighting was bad (headache-inducing fluorescent lights), and the walls were oddly bare.
DPW Silicon Valley: Felt kind of like a spa. Very pretty building, kind of remote, though.
K&E SV: Kinda fun game room, basketball court. Very small office, though.
WSGR SV: They have a nice little cafeteria and smoothie bar.
K&E DC: Very pretty building, great view of the city.
Covington DC: Also gorgeous building.

Re: Best / Nicest Law Firm Offices
Skadden NY's office is really nice, reminiscent of White & Case's due to the glass and lots of natural lighting. View from the gym is amazing. The cafeteria is really nice and shiny as well. But we had moved into our new Hudson Yards digs a month prior to COVID, so we only got to enjoy it briefly
