Sullivan & Cromwell (DC) Office Thoughts?

There is almost no information available about the office that has been updated in years on this forum. It seems like a satellite office that handles NY work, but is there any other information people have about the office? Pros and Cons?

They have an appellate practice, Jeff Wall, the outgoing acting SG, was from there.

Was he part of the group, or was the appellate practice centered around him? As far as I know, he hasn't rejoined S&C.

Anon because I work at another DC firm but have friends who work/have worked at S&C DC. Seems like a good group of people, not nearly as buttoned up as the NY office. I'm not sure about corporate but their litigation group seems strong. Also seems like Wall was a big part of the appellate practice but it seems to be doing fine/other SCOTUS clerks are running it now.

It's a very heavy lit office. 10 lit partners and 24 lit associates (29 if you include special counsel). Almost all lit associates are staffed on some mix of all-DC matter teams and mixed NY/DC matter teams. Much more laid back compared to the NY office. No one is a pure appellate associate, but anyone who wants appellate work is able to get it. Almost all of the litigation associates who've left the firm over the past few years have gone to career federal government jobs (DOJ Antitrust, DOJ Crim Appellate, SG's Office, etc.).

I heard this from an S&C friend, but can't verify personally - Jeff Wall is expected to rejoin.
