Is a tax LLM a good option for a CCN student if you strike at OCI?

Assuming you are interested in tax, and did well in the tax courses you took.

Yes. But if you’re striking out from CCN with good grades, you may need to work on your interviewing skills.

But back to your point. I graduated from my LLM a few years ago. The handful of T-14 grads got jobs weeks into the LLM program.

if you don't get a tax position by the end of 3L, it's a very good idea. if you know you are interested in tax, be a tax associate by all means. it's not particularly likely you'll get a position 3L/though mass mailing, so yes prepare to do the tax LLM, but it's not a 0% chance. I also believe that tax is one of the harder practices to break into via 3L/mass mailing.

tax llm is only 1 year, your grades wont be as important coming from CCN.
