Junior corporate associate at a top national firm (LW/KE/Weil/GDC) in Texas.

How feasible is it to lateral to New York as a 2nd or 3rd year associate? Would it be easier to transfer within my own firm or go to a peer firm?

If helpful, reasons for wanting to lateral largely stem from my dissatisfaction with energy work.

Should be pretty easy for both your firm and another firm.

OP here. Thanks. Is it generally easier to transfer offices within one’s firm than it is to lateral to a peer firm in a different city? Want to make sure I don’t overextend here
