Freshfields vs Milbank

Hello all,

I'm currently deciding between Milbank and Freshfields for my 2L summer. I am pretty undecided about what practice group, maybe litigation, maybe transactional. I don't think I want to do biglaw forever (or live in NY) so general "reputation" is something I'm considering. I get the feeling like Milbank is the obvious choice for someone who isn't 100% gung-ho about international work? Thanks!

Anon because I work at Milbank. You’re going to do international work at either firm (and learn that international work means lots of time differences and annoying af).

What do you mean by international work? Like any practice can have international components, or parties across the Atlantic. Are you thinking of something specific? Maybe project finance? I understand both firms are pretty strong in that regard.

Yeah "international law" is super vague. Freshfields seems to make a big deal of it though.
