zoom interview formats

I had a zoom callback this week that seemed fairly standard - four 30min interviews with different attorneys, except someone from the recruitment office was also on the zoom the whole time. His video and mic were off, and he never said anything - not even at the start. I'm not sure if he just left it on because it was his account or if he was listening and taking notes. I tried to ignore it in the moment, but now feeling worried about it, especially because I repeated some of the same stories/work examples to the different attorneys. I am wondering if anyone else had an experience like this. And also I have to say, if he was listening, it feels very odd to not just tell me that at the top.

Relax. The person is probably just in there to let the next attorney into the meeting.

Yeah, I’m sure it was just for logistics. He’s not going to judge you for giving the same answers to different people or retelling the same stories - everyone does that. It would be weirder if you gave completely different responses to different people who asked the same question.

Last summer at my V20 our recruiting person told us that she had to sit in on interviews over Zoom because she was the designated host, but turned off her camera and muted herself, and didn't listen in.
