Y'all typically leave cameras on or off during meetings? What's the norm at your firm? I find my friends in other industries, such as tech, almost always have their cameras off. But at my firm, if it's a client involved meeting, cameras are almost always on. even at non-client involved meetings, a good portion of people still leave it on.

Everyone has cameras on during meetings unless it's a presentation or panel or something, in which case only the speakers have their cameras on. It's only really okay to have your camera off during a meeting if you're calling in or if you sheepishly explain you're having technical difficulties.

Always seems to be a de facto vote at my firm. If only a couple have cameras on, they soon turn them off. If a few more folks have cameras on, often all/almost all participants turn them on.

I advocate doing whatever you're comfortable with though. I think in many cases it's not appropriate to insist someone join video.

Yep. To be fair, I'm pretty new and just describing what seems to be the social norm (and what was mentioned off-hand in orientation sessions). There's no formal policy that I know of.

This is surprising. Almost none of my meetings are via Teams/webex/zoom - both internal and with client; just regular phone calls. And thank god, cause I’ve been in gym shorts and a t shirt for 8 months.

Cameras are off during presentations. Cameras are on for happy hours. I've literally never had a Zoom meeting. We just circulate dial-ins.

Interesting to me that folks are still using dial-ins so much. I don't love video calls, but screen shares are very helpful.
