Is there a wrong choice here?
Hoping to do M&A/corporate. Wouldn't mind living in either city. Is one of them significantly better (all else equal) in terms of exit options or does it just come down to whether I want to live in NYC or CHI at this point?

Of the same boat. Also curious as to how others think.

Sidley, better firm in its respective market, decent place to work, and Chicago biglaw is one of the best financial deals in the industry

Could you elaborate more on how Chicago is the best financial deal in the industry?

Same salary and bonuses, but cost of living is around twice as high in Manhattan as in Chicago, plus Chicago hours are usually better. And unlike Houston/Dallas, the other great deals, Chicago is a “real city” like NY, not a giant suburb, if that matters to you.
