Thanks in advance for any assistance! I had a few questions about callbacks:

1) What is the reasonable time frame for callbacks? My EIP (at T6) was this week, so I imagine next week is still fine. What about the week after? The one after that? In other words, how many weeks out is it reasonable to schedule callbacks? If it helps, I am pretty good on paper--good grades, LR, clerkship.

2) I have a couple of callbacks to boutique litigation firms in NY/DC. The idea of a lit boutique is appealing, but several of them are really new (<5 years), and I am not sure whether it makes more sense to start with a more established and well-known firm, or at least summer at one, both in terms of immediate risk (boutique goes under) and long-term development (name recognition). The firms vary in offer rate (some are 100%).

Current CLS 2L, so I don’t have the answers but can give you a rough set of data points. Of the 8 callbacks I’ve gotten so far, I have scheduled 2 for this week, 4 for next week, and 2 for the following week.

All things being equal, I’ve heard it’s to your advantage to do a callback sooner rather than later. (It demonstrates interest in the firm on your part, and the number of open spots the firm has can only dwindle over time.)

From my point of view, it’s worth it to be as aggressive as possible with callback scheduling, even doubling up on certain days (AM + PM), or potentially missing class. (With Zoom recordings, missing class has never been a lesser deal than it is now.)

Those are my thoughts. You may in fact be such a strong candidate that the time pressures don’t apply to you.
